The Presentation Ceremony- Shimen School
I thought it was a pleasure for our department to be included in the annual awards ceremony staged by the school on the morning of March 5th.
The clear blue sky and the colors of the different color flags waving in the spring wind gave me a relaxing and refreshing start to the new school semester. The sight of the huge amount of students of Shimen school seated across the large bright green football pitch gave me an idea of the size of the school that I had never comprehended, before today.
It was delightful to see responsible students presenting and giving awards on stage. It was an honor to share the stage with a first-class student and example in Harry-Lihaitong. I was happy to see him acknowledged, well deservedly, for his hard work in our department.
On behalf of our department I was proud to receive a bouquet of flowers. I believe the different colors and kinds of flowers I was awarded represented the variety of talent and personalities which make up our international department. I thought this was very appropriate, because I feel certain that if it wasn’t for the warn support, respect, good manners and help I received from my colleagues in the international department, I would never have had the privilege of standing on the stage to receive an award. I believe the flowers I were given, represent the hard work, patience and sacrifice of everybody in our department.
As the chairman of the student union, Harry is always hardworking and responsible. Whenever there are any tasks given, he can always carry them out industriously and carefully. Moreover, he shows great talent in giving encouraging speech, which does contribute to his being elected the chairman.
As my colleague, Gary is generally acknowledged as diligent and professional. He did amazing preparation for each class. His elaborately designed teaching plans always surprise everyone. In charge of student management, he also works so meticulously that he always comes to the office 30minutes earlier every afternoon to give students helpful assistance and guidance, which every teacher does admire.
A great teacher has little external history to record. His life goes over into other lives. Inspired students with love, impressed teachers with passion, Gary is such a great model in the International Department.
Mr.Borck is a person who always be strict with his job and using right way to teach us to learn things the most efficient. When we are doing things distract our mind from study, he will use his helpful “consequence system” to help us focus on study. We really like him, he is not only a good teacher, but also a friend of us. He will tell us some funny jokes and care about what we want. All in all, he is really a good teacher.
Mr. Borck is a rigorous teacher. But he is a humorous person as well. When we can’t understand or express well, he always explains patiently .Mr. Borck also encourages us to show our own ideas, which gives us a lot of confidence. That is why we all like and respect him.
